Meeting your driver at Cancun Airport
- Clear immigration and customs (e-gates in Terminals 3 and 4 issue a digital tourist card for eligible e-passports).
- Walk straight through the exit hall. Staff inside offering “free” transport or tours are mostly timeshare sellers – you do not need to stop.
- Outside the terminal, look for your driver or representative holding a sign with your name. Your confirmation email has the exact meeting point.
Flights land at Terminal 2, Terminal 3 or Terminal 4 depending on the airline – see the airline directory or check the live arrivals board. Drivers track your flight, so a delay is not a problem.
Other ways to get there
- ADO bus + taxi – ADO bus to the downtown station, then a short taxi to Puerto Juárez or Gran Puerto.
- Airport taxi or shared shuttle – sold at the official counters inside each terminal. Fares are set by zone and are usually higher than a pre-booked private transfer, and shared vans stop at several hotels.
- Car – there is paid parking at the ferry terminals; on the island most people get around by golf cart, scooter or taxi.
About Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is about 7 km long, with the calm, shallow Playa Norte at the north end and the cliffs of Punta Sur at the south. Ferries (mainly Ultramar) leave from Gran Puerto and Puerto Juárez, and some from the Hotel Zone. The ferry ticket is bought separately. More in the Isla Mujeres guide.
