What Is Included in Your Tren Maya Ticket to Playa del Carmen?
Your ticket includes an assigned seat in the class you choose, as well as the luggage allowance described below. The main differences between the classes are the amount of space and the onboard service. Premier class offers wider seats, three seats per row, and food service. Tourist class has four seats per row and is the basic fare. Both classes travel on the same train and arrive at the same time.
What is NOT included and what you should know before buying your ticket:
Transfers from the station are not included. Almost none of the stations are located in the city centers they serve. In Playa del Carmen, the station is nine kilometers from Fifth Avenue; in Merida, it is 14 kilometers from the city center; and in Campeche, it is 15 kilometers away. You must pay for these transfers separately.
Entrance fees to archaeological sites are not included. These fees are charged by INAH, and some sites also have additional fees charged by other organizations.
About round-trip tickets: The booking website offers two options: one-way and round-trip tickets. However, with dynamic pricing, each trip is priced separately based on its travel date. This means your return trip could cost much more than your outbound trip.
