You can now travel from Los Cabos to Cancun!
A new direct flight connection will soon be established between Los Cabos International Airport and Cancun Airport. Here, we tell you how these destinations will strengthen their air connection with this new route.
Los Cabos to Cancun route
The good news starts now! The new air route from Los Cabos to Cancun will begin on December 1, 2026, and it will be a direct, nonstop flight.
This new route will be operated by Volaris and will have three flights per week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, with a flight time of less than four hours.
Until now, traveling between these two destinations meant making a stop in cities such as Mexico City or Toluca, with trips that could take up to 7 hours. Thanks to this new Los Cabos–Cancun air route, flight time will be significantly shorter, creating a direct connection between two of Mexico’s important beach destinations.
Details of the direct Los Cabos to Cancun Route
In addition to having three flights per week, flights from Cancun will depart at approximately 10:30 a.m., allowing you to make the most of your day in San José del Cabo.
Meanwhile, the flight from Los Cabos to Cancun will depart at 12:47 p.m. and arrive at Cancun International Airport at 6:00 p.m.
The aircraft assigned to this route will be Airbus A321, with a capacity of up to 186 passengers.
Even though this route will begin operating on December 1, 2026, you can already purchase your tickets for trips after this date. Fares start at approximately $897 Mexican pesos.

Jorge García, Volaris’ Director of Market Development, said that the airline “will continue working to strengthen its national network through direct flights and affordable fares.”
For Los Cabos, the impact goes beyond convenience: the arrival of tourists from southeastern Mexico will diversify the markets sending visitors and reduce dependence on international travelers. For Cancun, it means a gateway to the Mexican Pacific and a new opportunity to attract travelers who want to explore the Baja California Peninsula.
