Cozumel is an island across from Playa del Carmen, famous for diving. Hotels are in three areas: downtown San Miguel by the ferry pier, the quieter north hotel zone, and the south hotel zone near the reefs and cruise piers. From Cancun Airport you drive to the Playa del Carmen pier and take the ferry; some airlines also fly direct to Cozumel (CZM).

Getting from Cancun Airport to Cozumel
